Assistant Policy Officer
Ashdown People are recruiting for an experienced A/Policy Officer- grade 5/6 position. This position is based in Sydney CBD. This position is paying a daily rate between $397 - $438 per day superannuation.
This position is working for a cross Government Agency Unit part of a NSW Government organisation which was established following the independent review of out of home care in NSW and, the recommendations for the NSW Government to transform how we invest in the lives of vulnerable children and families. This is an exciting role where you will collaborate with others to achieve the reform's objective of reducing the number of children in out-of-home-care. The team is undertaking truly ground breaking work to create ways that improve how Government Agencies work with vulnerable children and families and give them a better experience and access to the services they need.
Therefore a Grade 5/6 Assistant Policy Officer is required to in this new and rewarding reform, to build on the team;s wife ranging capabilities and wealth of experience. The role currently sits in the Cohort Analysis and Design work stream delivering analysis and package design for specific cohorts of children and young people who have a similar level of vulnerability, needs and characteristics. Key Responsibilitites: Policy Development Stakeholder Engagement Research and Analysis Cohert Identification Service design Modelling through to program development and evaluation To Be Successful: Are creative and critical thinkers open to change and other perspectives Have experience in getting things done and overcoming obstacles and resistance Have excellent communication skills that equip you to build strong relationships with your team, clients and key stakeholders Are fact-based decision makers with the ability to consider context as well as assumptions and biases when making judgements Are passionate about contributing to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families Have at least 1 year experience in working in social policy (desired, but not essential).
