Electrical and Fitter & Turner Apprenticeships
Programmed Skilled Workforce would like to invite applications for the following apprenticeships commencing in early 2019: Fitting & Turning (Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade) Electrical (Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician) Based at Loy Yang B Power Station in Victoria's Latrobe Valley, 160 km east of Melbourne, you will enjoy working in Victoria's newest and most efficient coal-fired power station. To be successful you must be committed to completing a four-year apprenticeship. You will attend trade school to obtain a nationally recognised trade qualification while developing expertise in an encouraging and supportive work environment.
You will perform periodic, preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance on power station plant, equipment and systems under appropriate supervision. All work will be completed in accordance with the standards specified in the host employer's quality system including policies and procedures relating to health, safety and the environment. To be successful, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they meet the following selection criteria: 1.
Genuine interest in and understanding of their preferred trade (i.e. Fitting & Turning or Electrical) 2.
Safety conscious and can demonstrate compliance with health, safety and environment policies and procedures. 3. Able to systematically solve technical problems.
4. Sound mathematical skills. 5.
Able to work well with others in a team environment. 6. The initiative required to organise and complete daily work activities and trade school requirements.
