An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced nurse looking to move their career into a liaison and patient coordination role. This position is for eight months and will provide a good introduction into the role. In the Liaison Nurse role you have the opportunity to impact the care of a large number of patients.
Specialist Clinics provides a facility for the assessment and management of patients referred for care by specialist physicians and surgeons. The demand for this service is high and, as a consequence, we cater for large numbers of patients. This is a fast paced area which requires you to draw on all your knowledge and experience.
This position offers great variety where you will use your clinical skills, your communication and your coordination skills. The Liaison Nurse role is to provide efficient and timely access for patients who are referred for consultation at the Specialist Clinics. It ensures consistent assessment, triage and management of referrals directed to the acute medical and surgical Specialist Clinics in accordance with the Specialist clinics in Victorian public hospitals access policy.
The role provides consultancy and advice to health professionals regarding service availability and referral requirements.
