Senior Programs Officer

The Senior Programs Officer provides high level support to the Manager and executive and is responsible for leading projects and services to assist the division to meet priority objectives.
This includes designing, leading and supporting programs and projects with statewide application for emergency management, forest management and bushfire programs. Fundamentally, the successful applicant will be able to develop, design and operate programs with statewide application for forest, fire and emergency management, and, advise on and develop procedures and guidance to support the implementation of policy initiatives. You will have a continuous improvement mindset and actively contribute to the division effectively delivering its business objectives and foster a high-performance culture as you contribute to the division's all-communities all-emergencies management coordination role.
The role requires strong relationship building capabilities to maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. The role also requires the ability to manage complexity and apply analytical ability to a variety of information and data, and to identify opportunities and issues. Tertiary qualification(s) in science, engineering, law, economics, public policy, natural resource or environmental management, business management or similar is desirable.
