Their extensive distribution network incorporates Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. Our client represents international and locally created brands and has a high level of new product design and innovation. About the Role Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Melbourne based dynamic individual to take on the role of Business Development Manager / Sales Manager.

You will be responsible for driving sales through distribution channels by increasing end-user demand throughout Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. You will also manage existing distributors and actively prospect to grow that channel strategically to better cover the company’s geographical and industrial market. This is a home-based role that requires working with a high degree of autonomy and would suit an industry experienced self-starter.

You will also be provided with substantial and continuous training and support to help propel your success. Key responsibilities will include but not limited to: Research leads generated by marketing activities from an existing data base Sell products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects Maintain relationships with clients by providing support, information and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities Remaining current on industry trends, market activities and competitor Records outcome and information from meetings (mostly CRM) by collecting, analysing and summarizing information Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing company standards Weekly planning, meeting attendance and follow ups Proactive in maintaining a solid appointment schedule through your ability to convert phone calls to meetings To be successful for this role you must have the following: Ideally at least five years prior successful sales experience dealing with major end-user accounts – distributors in the safety product/personal protective equipment (PPE) industry preferred Energetic self-starter with the ability to organise and prioritise your work to produce results Motivated to succeed, confident and personable Proactive in maintaining a solid appointment Ability to build and maintain a good rapport enabling you to form quality business relationships at all levels With a remuneration package comprising of an attractive negotiable base salary, to be based on the experience and capability of the successful candidate, car allowance, fuel, laptop, phone etc. and a generous commission scheme this is a role that will not last long You must have Australian Citizenship/Residency to app.
