Personal Care Worker - Trainee

REDHS is an integrated rural health service, providing a broad range of acute, residential aged care, DPU, preventative and primary health programs to a population of approximately 8,600 people in the Campaspe and Bendigo Shires. Personal Care Worker - Aged Care Part-time Traineeship positions available - 20 hours per week for 12 months REDHS are currently offering 2 part-time, fixed term 12 month traineeships to complete a Certificate III in Individual Support. The traineeships are suited to people who are interested in pursuing a career in Aged Care.
You will undertake training as a Personal Care Worker and provide holistic care, ensuring the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of residents are fulfilled, whilst upholding their privacy and dignity and promoting the philosophies, vision, policies and undertakings of the Rochester Residential Aged Care Facility. The 20 hours per week will consist of shifts of 4 or 5 hours from 7.30-12.
30 or 16.30-20.30.
You must be at least 18 years of age, hold a current driver’s licence, be physically fit, have good communication and interpersonal skills and above all an interest in pursuing a career within Aged Care. You will undertake a Certificate III in Individual Support through a Registered Training Provider. Note: Applicants who have completed a Certificate III or higher in the past 7 years ARE NOT eligible to apply for the traineeship.
Benefits of the traineeship include: Successful applicant eligible for trainee position will have direct education fees covered by REDHS and will be provided with time to attend any required classes or undertake some study during working hours. In return, you will be expected to do whatever is required to successfully complete off-the-job training requirements, including some study outside working hours. You will be provided with on-the-job training and mentoring and fully supported throughout your traineeship by a team of professionals.
