Legal Counsel, ITS and Procurement

The Legal Services Group is committed to providing high quality legal services that are aligned and responsive to the commercial needs of RMIT. The Role & Your Responsibilities As Legal Counsel you will support the Senior Legal Counsel as a point of contact for users of legal services within RMIT's portfolios of Procurement and Information Technology Services delivering high quality legal advice in a timely and customer focussed manner. This includes legal and strategic advice and support to the Supported Portfolios in the negotiation, drafting and development of high-value, complex agreements, policies, tender documents and all related legal documents required.
You will develop and maintain productive and positive working relationships with key stakeholders and their teams. Skills & Experience Required You will have experience as a senior commercial lawyer in IT contracting, privacy and/or data protection working on complex and significant transactions with enterprise-wide application and influence. You will have experience negotiating, drafting and advising on a range of high- value procurement agreements.
You will have demonstrable experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and a proven ability to operate with a high level of confidentiality in a diplomatic manner, with the ability to influence others. A positive, can-do attitude with the ability to work autonomously in a fast moving environment will see you succeed in this role. A current practising certificate as an Australian lawyer under the Legal Profession Uniform Law is mandatory.
