General Practitioner Permanent - - Yungaburra
Township Yungaburra is an idyllic "heritage" town at the heart of the Atherton Tableland. Its lush, rural setting at altitude avoids the heat of the tropical coast but allows access to all the benefits of living in the tropics. The network of towns on the southern Atherton Tableland provides most services and facilities within 15 minutes drive of Yungaburra; including educational, sporting, art, recreational, financial and other services.
Yungaburra itself has a range of shops, facilities and services. In addition, it is only 60 minutes drive to Cairns where there is an expanded range of facilities and services including an international airport with regular flights throughout Australia and the world, a campus of James Cook University, easy access to the Great Barrier Reef and great shopping. The Atherton Tableland also provides a wide range of other employment opportunities from fruit picking to professional positions as well as a wide range of very active community groups and committees.
The nearby Lake Tinaroo offers excellent water sports and fishing and the surrounding natural environments range from the savannah country immediately to the west and rainforest and reef to the east offer superb camping and other recreational opportunities.
