Visiting Senior Specialist or Visiting Specialist - Orthopaedics (Hands/Upper Limb including Microsurgery and General Trauma)
About the role Provide high level clinical leadership and operational management of Musculoskeletal Services in addition to performing clinical duties. The role reports professionally to the Medical Lead for Musculoskeletal Services and works collaboratively with the Service Director, Nursing Director and Allied Health Lead for Musculoskeletal Services. Requirements of the role It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough), and hepatitis B.
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Certified copies of relevant qualification and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties. Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, plus FRACS or equivalent acceptable to the College of Surgeons and registrable as a surgical specialist with the Medical Board of Queensland. Evidence of competency in general trauma and in the area of Hands/Upper limb including reconstruction and arthroplasty with an interest in Shoulder with Microsurgery and General Trauma Surgery. A Medical Officer must incur ongoing costs from the operation of a private practice in order to be appointed as a Visiting Medical Officer/Specialist.

) Base salary: Visiting Specialist: between $171.77 – 187.90 p.
