Senior Management Officer - Marine Farming (700773)
Duties Prepare, review, amend and make recommendations on regional marine farming development plans in accordance with the Marine Farming Planning Act 1995 and State Government policies. Undertake research, development and analysis of data relevant to marine farming. Provide expert/high level advice to senior officers, prepare high level correspondence and accurate documentation including reports, options papers, policy papers etc.
Collate, consult, liaise, negotiate, correspond with and provide advice to marine farmers, Federal, State and local government agencies and the public on, at times, complex marine farming matters. Represent the Department in a range of forums, meetings and committees, including Marine Farming Planning Review Panel meetings and hearings, in relation to marine farming planning. Undertake compliance, extension and engagement work with the marine farming industry and associated stakeholders as required.
Perform any other assigned duties at the classification level that are within the employee’s competence and training. Desirable Requirements Completion of a relevant degree or higher qualification and a minimum of three years’ post-graduate experience in resource management or a related area. A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
Ability and competence to operate safely in the marine environment including the holding of Coxswains Grade 2 or ability to complete the required training. Experience with GIS.
