Adult Education Lead - Adelaide
Inspire the next generation of women coders PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: You will play a critical role in the development of CLG’s adult education program. You will lead a team of coding facilitators and assistants to create and deliver an outstanding curriculum and learning experience for each workshop attendee. RESPONSIBILITIES Collaboratively with Adult Education Facilitators, lead, design, create and deliver workshop content and curriculum based on their technical area of expertise Deliver and assist adult workshops from time-to-time Provide support and guidance to facilitators in the development of workshop curriculum and materials and adult learning principles Work with the Marketing and Sales Assistant to ensure all sessions are at capacity Work with CLG partners to secure appropriate venue and associated requirements for each workshop From time to time deliver facilitate corporate coding workshops This is a contractor role for one day per fortnight.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED An understanding of Code Like a Girl’s underlying vision, objectives and rationale Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to liaise with individuals at all levels in a professional, confident, engaging, responsive and timely manner A hawk’s eye for detail – a veritable detail junkie Ability to work autonomously in a self-motivated and directed manner Comfortable with making decisions and moving forward in the face of ambiguity Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and inspire others Desire and ability to be constantly learning, and constantly looking for ways to improve how you and others work, including the structure, delivery and performance of the adult workshops An understanding of adult learning principles, and what will make for an engaging and interesting learning experience Strong technical skills - you may have worked as a developer, engineer or programmer and can use this knowledge to create workshops, and refine the creation of other facilitator’s workshops.
