The Environment Officer is responsible for projects across NSW and the wider Sydney area, leading Environmental performance evaluation of on-going maintenance works. Focusing on carrying out inspections, advising staff on environmental responsibilities and preparing Environmental Assessment reports. To be successful in this position you need to have: Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, environmental planning, environmental management or related discipline Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the NSW and federal environmental regulatory framework Demonstrated ability to work with multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver high quality environmental planning and assessment documentation that meets relevant legislative and environmental policy requirements Sound knowledge and experience in the identification, assessment and effective management, minimisation or avoidance of environmental impacts and risks Demonstrated ability to undertake analysis of complex and technical environmental subject matter to develop balanced environmental strategies, guidelines and/or policy statements Strong communication skills and ability to engage positively and effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and members of the community Demonstrated skills and experience in successful negotiation and conflict resolution This Government body has many on-going projects across NSW, and is looking for strong professionals to take lead on a variety of assignments.
Employment will be of a contract nature, to collaborate in specific projects and locations, and remuneration is around $90/ hour (depending on skills and experience).
