Where you will be based Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare.
It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. The primary location is RPAH while also required to work at Canterbury and Concord as needed for service requirements. About the role This position provides consultation and liaison services to patients and their families presenting to RPAH with drug health issues.
They also provide specialist clinical advice to health care professionals and others within RPAH, to facilitate improved health outcomes. They are responsible for supporting staff through education and training. This position supports the HCL CNC in providing a service which assists RPA Hospital in reducing bed block by responding to requests for Inpatient consultation for Drug Health patients in the Emergency Department, and on the wards, in a timely and efficient manner.
The number of Hospital Drug and Alcohol Consultation Liaison (HDA-CL) is a Key Performance Indicator in the FY22/23 Service Agreement, which is required to be reported to the Centre for Population Health at MOH on quarterly basis. We are looking for someone who has Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with at least 3 years experience working in a relevant area with post-registration qualifications deemed appropriate by the organisation. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and problem solve to manage the complex clinical care needs of patients through the development and use of clinical management plans.
