We will support and help you to develop your career. Come Join Us. Become a Multicultural Child Protection Caseworker About the role As a Multicultural Caseworker, you will respond to reports about children or young people who may have been harmed or where there are safety concerns.
The first priority is always the safety, welfare and wellbeing of the children or young person. You will work sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people, and work collaboratively with other agencies to develop safety plans and complete risk assessments. Multicultural Caseworkers use their cross-cultural skills and expertise to assist families from a range of backgrounds.
This role targets African speaking communities and language skills in African is an essential requirement. Multicultural Caseworkers support families by providing: • Primary Casework – working with families from their target community • Secondary Casework – for families from their target community• Cultural Consultations – to other Caseworkers supporting families from their target community• Language Support – Multicultural Caseworkers in roles targeting a specific language group are required to undertake a language assessment and if successful, receive accreditation to provide simple communication with families. DCJ will arrange this through the Community Language Assistance Scheme.
