Senior Dam Engineer

Golder has a new full-time opportunity for a Senior Dam Engineer , based in Perth .
The role includes supporting our team in providing Engineer of Record (EoR) services for water dams associated with mining operations. You will focus on design and review of dam upgrades and risk mitigation measures. Your demonstrated experience related to embankment dams will lead a team to complete a variety of dam design, analysis, and construction tasks for all phases of the mine life cycles.
We will support the successful candidate to develop and lead a water dam strategy and take on, or transition to, an EoR role through exposure to our existing Principal Tailings and Dam Engineers. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and solution-focused mindset. Key duties and responsibilities will include: - Technical directing or providing input to embankment dam design and review studies and related analyses; - Providing senior technical input to project teams and ensuring that appropriate technical standards are developed and maintained; - Assessing and understanding failure modes and how they apply to embankment dams; - Leading of multi-disciplinary project teams on local, regional and international consulting assignments; - Providing technical guidance and mentoring for staff in the regional team and reviewing their project work; - Delivering best practice consulting services to clients in Australia and overseas; - Providing recommendations in area of dams and water management to clients; - Maintaining effective client relationships and generate consulting business; and - Project management, budgeting and quality control.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline is essential and relevant post graduate degree in either business or relevant technical discipline would be looked upon favourably; - At least 7 years of experience working on dam-related projects locally or internationally, ideally in a consulting environment; - Familiar with ANCOLD guidelines and current industry practice in dam engineering; - Ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary project teams; and - Hold a current manual drivers licence.
