The opportunity Having a comprehensive understanding of geotechnics and ground behaviour is fundamental to building robust and resilient infrastructure. Our combined WSP/Golder Geotechnics team works alongside planners, structural and civil engineers from the early project planning stages through to construction, inspection and rehabilitation of existing facilities. This creates continuity of project knowledge and supports the multidisciplinary collaboration that is essential to delivering complex infrastructure.
Coming together has strengthened our technical geotechnical capability and is enabling like-minded professionals to collaborate more easily, better leverage technology and access a broader client base. As we're seeing our project value and pipeline grow significantly, new opportunities have become available for junior Geotechnical Engineers, Senior Engineers and Principals to join us in Cairns or Townsville. You will contribute to the delivery of detailed design and site supervision services for major underground engineering projects in urban areas for highway, metro railway and stations, and wastewater treatment plant.
As an Engineer , you will: - Coordinate or conduct geotechnical investigations including interpreting geotechnical data, performing analysis and making recommendations - Prepare geotechnical reports and undertake field assignments - Maintain client contact and provide technical advice on geotechnical issues - Assist with project planning and deliverables of technical complexity - Prepare proposals and reports for clients with support from senior staff - Identifying safety hazards and completing OH&S incident reporting As a Senior Engineer , you will: - Deliver best practice consulting services to clients - Manage project teams, budgets, technical review and quality control for consulting assignments - Build a reputation as a lead consultant and participate in the national and global Technical Geotechnical Community - Mentor, train, coach juniors to support their career growth and professional development As a Principal , you will be a part of the local leadership team and play a significant role in work.
