To support our mission, Raytheon is seeking a motivated electrical engineer to join our team of engineering professionals on-site in Exmouth. Reporting to the engineering manager, the lead electrical engineer will ensure that the operational performance and governance of the NCS HEH electrical assets are maintained in accordance with Australian electrical standards & WA state legislation. Sustainment of NCS HEH estate and infrastructure includes electrical design, complex fault rectification and sustainment activities associated with power generation, power distribution, defence mission systems, plant equipment and control systems. Key Responsibilities - Lead and perform a diverse range of electrical engineering and technical tasks within the Defence sustainment environment, including investigation, design, modification & maintenance process.
- Conduct risk assessments of electrical hazards, regulatory compliance and propose solutions. - Timely and effective communication of hazards, defects and design or maintenance deficiencies. - Liaise with the engineering manager on project engineering issues, design process and engineering change development in according to company and program procedures.
- Develop solutions that meet customer requirements within cost, schedule, and quality constraints. - Plan, estimate and schedule electrical engineering tasks and activities. - Develop and refine engineering processes in consultation with the engineering function.
- Participate in technical reviews and audits. - Mentor engineering and technical staff. Skills, Experience and Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- At least six years of post-graduate professional engineering experience with electrical systems. - Ability to resolve defects on a diverse range of electrical systems. - Willingness to hold chartered professional engineering status via Engineers Australia.
- Familiarity with Australian Standard (AS) electrical standards and preferably with WA legislation. - Preferred familiarity with SCADA, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley control systems. Travel Infrequent travel to Adelaide will be required to support engineering investigations as well as travel within Australia for busines.
