As a result, supply capacity is increasingly a strategic focus to fuel the growth which has meant that we have a new and exciting opportunity for a Raw Materials Development Manager to join the Commercial team and focus on developing new raw materials and suppliers in Australia. Your key role will be to source and ensure high quality of raw materials for dry pet food in Bathurst and wet pet food in Wodonga.

This position will closely work with Royal Canin (RC) APAC & Global Commercial, Quality & Food Safety (Q&FS) and R&D teams, as well as Pet Nutrition ANZ Commercial and relevant plants hence your ability to work effectively with cross functional teams an build strong relationships will be integral to your success. What are we looking for? - Degree Qualification in science, engineering or similar, ideally in food related disciplines; - Previous experience working in the food industry preferred; - Experience with Supplier QA and sourcing ingredients preferrable; - An understanding of the petfood raw material market; - Ability to build relationships both internally and externally; - Strong negotiation skills to manage unique requirements. What would be your key responsibilities? - Understand the business needs and translate the needs into sourcing strategies and action plans; - Sourcing raw materials required for dry and wet food, especially dry and wet animal proteins and fats; - Evaluate the quality capability of the suppliers and work with them to improve their QA capability; - Coordinate materials risk analysis (MRA) and trials with Royal Canin and Pet Nutrition resources; - Increase performance relating to material quality, palatability, suppliers' capacity, and service levels; - Drive productivity and cost savings.
