Business Development Manager, based in Melbourne, Victoria

You will become a member of the Australian Sales team and will support the Head of Sales in efficient execution of the business sales strategy, to grow the portfolio profitably and achieve significant market share in Melbourne, Victoria. Develop and implement sales strategies for targeted key accounts in Victoria. Very knowledgeable of complete line of products/services and clients' issues and needs.

Primarily focused on seeking out new clients through broker relationships and distribution. In practice, this is both challenging and exciting, requiring you to develop a detailed understanding of every aspect of the international medical insurance business and have strong connections within the Melbourne market. This will require you to be involved with all our departments making this a demanding yet ultimately very rewarding role.

You will be a university graduate. More importantly, you will have high levels of sales experience, backed up by excellent, interpersonal and influential skills and be fluent in English. Main duties/Responsibilities - Responsible for meeting assigned sales goals and own portfolio of business; - Research and develop new business opportunities within assigned geographic areas/industry categories/market segments; - Generate and follow up new business leads to meet sales and profitability targets in line with overall strategy; - Prepare focused, client-specific presentations for new business emphasising the USP of the Cigna product vs the competition; - Develop proactive strategy, with regular reviews, maximising specific opportunities as they arise; - Build and maintain harmonious business relationship with benefits intermediaries to penetrate on both multinational and SME client segments in Victoria; - Prioritize and approach prospects directly for business opportunities by acting as an adviser to client on all aspects of their international medical insurance requirements. - Coordinate case implementations to ensure seamless inception processes. - Participate in specific projects, e.

g. review of service standards, development of product and pricing strategy as well as product literature. - Lead the research and development of new business opportunities and products in local area.

g. underwriting, operations, claims teams, marketing, in line with established procedures to ensure optimum service to client. - Liaise with other Cigna worldwide offices to develop opportunities; to drive cross sell activit.
