NSW GovernmentExecutive Director, Mental Health Executive Band 2 Ministry of Health Provide Effective Strategic Leadership in Mental Health Optimise Health Outcomes -Significant Stakeholder Engagement Senior Executive Salary Package & Relocation Benefits Role Outline Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, Health System Strategy and Planning the Executive Director, Mental Health provides expertise and strategic advice to relevant Ministers, the Secretary and Deputy Secretary on trends and issues in mental health in order to inform policy decision making processes and the development, implementation and evaluation of services and policy initiatives. This role also leads the regulatory activities of the Mental Health Branch in order to meet statutory and policy requirements. This will require you to: Provide strategic advice in relation to the mental health portfolio to inform decision making about issues that are often technically complex, politically and legally sensitive Develop and maintain effective relationships, partnerships and communication with Local Health Districts, Specialty Health Networks, senior NSW Health staff and key external stakeholders Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of a strategic framework aimed at effectively meeting current and future service needs for mental health in accordance with state and national priorities.

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and talented, multi-dimensional executive with extensive experience in strategic leadership in Mental Health. You will possess outstanding influencing and negotiating skills supported by high levels of business acumen, a strong understanding of the government sector, and a focus on providing effective state-wide leadership to improve mental health outcomes. The ability to lead, plan and manage change supported by outstanding communication, engagement and collaboration skills is essential.
