Back to job search Junior Cyber Security Engineer (Data Protection) Sydney Apply now Refer someone Join a dynamic Cyber protection team working across Macquarie Technology to create future ready services that protect Macquarie’s data from internal and external threats. As a member of the protection team, you will be responsible for security applications and systems within a global operating environment. You will design, build and operate solutions focused on data management and protection to meet business, service, and lifecycle requirements.

Your responsibilities include implement cloud and endpoint technologies to uplift data loss protection controls across Macquarie’s global environment ongoing upgrade and maintenance of associated application platforms maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders work with product vendor to troubleshoot complex issues and identify new capabilities to meet changing business requirements work with diverse stakeholders across multiple Macquarie businesses to perform analysis activities for the design, definition and implementation of information protection measures across Macquarie own and resolve production issues escalated from L2 support, creating knowledge base articles where possible facilitate training of key service offerings to the business identify and implement automated solutions to remove existing manual tasks To be successful, you will bring ideally 1 or more years’ experience in an infrastructure or security infrastructure/application base understanding and experience in Mac / Windows operating systems ability to work with global technology teams ability to deal effectively with colleagues and business users working in a constantly evolving environment across multiple time-zones and cultures a customer-focused approach with a "service first" mentality and best-in-class communication skills a self-starter mentality and assume responsibility for a range of activities and tasks and willing to learn. ability to view current processes and procedures as opportunities for enhancement, tuning and improvement a risk-focused approach with an ability to perform due diligence and make informed decisions a keen interest in cloud-based technologies experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI and Splunk is desirable experience working with security products such as Trellix, Forcepoint and Netskope is desirable.
