Hardware and Firmware Engineer

Perm opportunity for an experienced Electronic Engineer with Hardware AND Firmware design and development experience. The Company our client is seeking a Hardware/Firmware Engineer. Their products are deployed in many countries and play a vital role in conserving a very scarce resource - water.

The Job This role requires an experienced embedded systems engineer to work as directed on the development, testing and support of innovative embedded products throughout the complete product lifecycle Responsibilities You will work within a team on activities from concept through to release, contributing to concept development, specifications and the development of test plans. Altium Designer will be required for electronic schematics and circuit board design as well as managing the validation of designs.

As part of your Firmware duties, you will be required to develop and maintain C based embedded firmware complying with the company’s version. Other responsibilities will include: Performing failure mode analysis and contributing to production and process planning in collaboration with manufacturing in accordance with their product release processes. Support global offices, quality system, field staff and manufacturing by assisting with fault finding, root cause investigations, troubleshooting and analysis of hardware returns.

Contribute to planning and results analysis of their flow facility product testing. Some occasional travel to the factory (Shepperton) and installed sites will be required. Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial environment.

Strong proficiency and experience in embedded C microcontroller firmware development. Experience with Atmel XMEGA and 32-bit processors is advantageous. Experience in electronics design with circuit board design software such as Altium Designer or equivalent.

Solid understanding of best practice software engineering process, version control and documentation. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Time management skills and capacity to handle multiple projects and priorities.

The capacity to work in the R&D environment when faced with challenges related to new and innovative products and technologies. You Tertiary qualification is mandatory, such as Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Computer Engineering or Mechatronics Degree. Current driver’s licence.
