Hancock AgricultureMachinery Operator/Station Hand | LIVERINGA, WA Fulltime We have an opening for a Machinery Operator/Station Hand to join our operations at Liveringa, WA starting during mustering season from March 2023. This role offers a great opportunity to join an exciting, industry leading Agribusiness. About the Property Liveringa Station spans over 267,000 hectares located in the picturesque West Kimberley Region WA on the banks of the mighty Fitzroy River.
The property is an extensive beef cattle breeding operation running 25,000 head Brangus Cross cattle alongside a hugely successful irrigated farming operation. Liveringa mustering involves helicopters, horses and motorbikes based on low stress stock handling techniques. Located only two hours from the tourist town of Broome, Liveringa is well situated to access all that the Kimberley has to offer.
Throughout the year we attend local horse and social events in the area. Liveringa prides itself on teamwork and community, where all team members are valued and respected, and play an integral part in the successful and smooth running of the station. About the Role This role has a focus on machinery operations and supplement (lick) distribution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operation and basic maintenance of a wide variety of station plant and machinery, including graders, loaders, telehandlers and tractors;
- Ensuring lick troughs are never empty and cattle never go without proper and full supplementation;
- Monitoring water trough hygiene and regular cleaning of all water trough
- Competent operation and maintenance of various station machinery/equipment;
- Relevant earthmoving experience, including operating a grader (tickets preferred);
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, including comprehending complex directions to various parts of the property (instructions are often given in the morning for the entire days work);
- Proven knowledge/skills in maintaining animal welfare and nutrition, with the ability to identify various nutritional hazards to animals (e.g. overdosing or toxicity) an advantage;
- Production animal experience, including livestock handling, health and welfare;
- Fencing, stock water and general maintenance skills, including the ability to know and report that cattle are in their correct paddocks and herd;
- A strong work ethic and commitment to working safely;
- A genuine passion for Agriculture and doing your best to look after animals and their nutrition.
