Why Your Role Matters: As a Senior Research Associate, your primary goal will be to drive the collaborative research effort in the response to the SARS-CoV-2 and Monkeypox pandemic/epidemics. The collaborative effort currently encompasses understanding the molecular virology and application thereof to build high content screening platforms.
This will encompass the generation of novel reagents and the conduct and development of a range of high content assays using live viral isolates and the development of analysis plans for the complex data sets generated. To be successful in this role, you will have expertise in cellular, molecular research techniques and have extensive experience in PC3 containment facilities. The role of Senior Research Associate reports to Associate Professor Stuart Turville and has no direct reports.
Who You Are: PhD in Immunovirology (or a related/relevant discipline) or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training, or experience Proven evidence of publications in reputable peer reviewed journals and proven ability to prepare research findings for presentation Experience in working a supervising staff in PC3 containment environment essential Experience of working with and liaising with a range of collaborators including potential commercial partners Demonstrated research experience in biomedical research, including experience in molecular biology techniques, genetic manipulation and cloning of mammalian cells. Development, validation and use of high content platforms and analysis. Working with teams to test large cohorts-based samples.
