About the opportunity Southern Cross University is seeking a customer serviced focused administrator to provide administrative support to the Legal Office and the broader Governance Services by attending to legal and general administrative duties and contract management. Your core responsibilities will include: Manage the LEX legal file management system including data entry, file creation, reports and electronic filing; Assist with compliance with subpoenas and other information requests, including arranging the retrieval of documents to comply with such requests; Liaise with courts, tribunals, external law firms and other government agencies as directed by the University Lawyers; Assist with legal and property searches; and Maintain the contracts management database and commercial activities register and assist with maintenance of the web-based government contracts register. About you The successful candidate will bring dive, enthusiasm and experience operating within a busy environment.
You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to operate with discretion and maintain confidentiality requirements. More specifically, you will have: A relevant qualification at Certificate level and three years’ legal office or other relevant administrative experience, or equivalent; Demonstrated skills and experience in a range of administrative procedures, including file management, information retrieval, document preparation and collation as well as the ability to process requests for legal information from external agencies; Demonstrated computing skills including word processing, database and spreadsheet management, and experience in formatting complex documents; and Proven organisational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, prioritise competing tasks, and undertake duties with high-level of accuracy and attention to detail.
