melbournebioinformatics.org.au Melbourne Bioinformatics (MB) is a vibrant bioinformatics team based at The University of Melbourne in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences.

MB plays a pivotal leadership role in accelerating the application of best-practice bioinformatics in the prestigious Parkville Biomedical Precinct and nationally. We do this by delivering key enabling infrastructure as well as teaching, training, community-building, consulting, and engaging in collaborative research. Melbourne Bioinformatics host the administrative hub of and has a strong synergistic partnership with the leading national bioinformatics infrastructure organisation, the Australian BioCommons.

About the Role Melbourne Bioinformatics is seeking an experienced leader to fill the position of Operations Manager. This role will provide operational leadership for MB, managing our Office Coordinator and Communications Officer, and working closely with the Seniors Group, Steering Committee, and the Australian BioCommons Operations team. Responsibilities include: Taking an active role in establishing and/or improving the operational policies, procedures, and tools that are required for the Melbourne Bioinformatics Routinely interface with the Seniors Group, Steering Committee, our Communications Officer, Office Coordinator, and Faculty HR, Finance, OH&S, and Legal teams as well as the Australian BioCommons administrative team to collectively enable the goals of Melbourne Bioinformatics to be realised Supporting the teaching, research, and infrastructure team at MB and identifying and pursuing opportunities for growth including new research collaborations and funding Identifying, developing, and deploying standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operational aspects of the Melbourne Bioinformatics About You You will be an experience program and project management professional with a strong knowledge of teaching administration in the university environment.
