Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Finance Modeller on a 12 month contract with potential extension.

About the Role The APS6 Finance Modeller is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents. The APS6 Finance Modeller is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Contribute to the Implementation of CFO Group Modelling framework ensuring consistency and reliability of the models.

Develop and maintain models within the CFO Group. Assurance on the model drivers, assumptions and resultant outputs. Working with key stakeholders across the Agency assessing model drivers based on Agency strategies.

Provide training to end users as required. Development of presentations to Senior Leadership inclusive of key conclusions, risks and scenarios. Analysing and interpreting statistical reports to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning.

Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects. Coordinating and providing cost estimates for all internal and external requests for changes to systems. Developing correspondence for stakeholders, such as financial reports, corporate documentation and responses to ministerial submissions.

Exercising appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines. Managing quality assurance activities and outcomes including the use of integrity/error reporting and the coordination of quality audits. Preparing a range of written material including business cases, reports and corporate documentation.

Undertaking quality assurance of feasibility and cost estimates, assumptions and justifications. Undertaking detailed financial analysis of branch/division's variance to budget and forecast. Undertaking financial administration across the division's cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals.

Our ideal candidate will have: Relevant academic qualifications with membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) or other equivalent professional finance bodies (or holding equivalent finance-related post graduate qualifications). Extensive direct finance modelling experience performing and delivering complex financial and governance outcomes. Please note that to be eligible for this position you must be an Australian Cit.
