Firmware Engineer - Energy Efficiency Domain - MAC Layer SpecialistMCS Consulting
Embedded Software development, Comms based development, C, C++, MAC Layer, Baremetal Development Project with purpose by building a product that improves energy efficiency & optimise energy usage Up to $135k base super Design chipset solutions that will optimise energy usage and significantly improve energy efficiency via practical means using existing infrastructure and technologies. You got into engineering because you liked the idea of making a difference through the products you’d help create. That’s still a big driver for you today.
But you feel like you not making the impact you could be. Maybe the team you’re in is too big and there’s not much room for impact. Or perhaps the product you’re working on isn’t getting you excited.
You want more project responsibility and to influence areas of design like system architecture. You want to be involved in design discussions, deciding how software, hardware and the communications protocols will interface. If that sounds familiar and you want to get your hands dirty with C and C++ for embedded systems development on an R&D project, then that’s what you’ll get here.
You’ll be doing it on a in a decade old scale-up that’s currently 15 people so you'll make a meaningful contribution. The product you’ll help build will substantially improve energy efficiency and improve power consumption via practical means. Just think about that for a second.
Does that sound like something you could get behind? The work is complex and interesting too. You’d be helping developing their second generation device. It’s got some clever in-house designed algorithms and proprietary protocols used for smart IoT communications.
Joining today you’d work on things like FPGA, or a variety of chipset platforms which is collecting heaps of data across potentially millions of households and businesses. Ideally, you'll be an SME in MAC layer development, baremetal development and working with microcontrollers with tight memory constraints and can work closely to the hardware. You’re not in it for the money, but we’ve all got bills to pay right? In return you’ll be paid up $135,000 super in this mid-stage scale-up and becoming a important member of the team.
The team has offices in Melbourne's CBD and accessible via two train stations. With a hybrid approach to working, you’ll find someone in the office 3 days a week. If you’ve got to get your head down on something, no questions will be asked if you decide to work from home.
