Purchasing and Inventory Manager


Purchasing and Inventory Manager required for Brisbane based automotive wholesale distributor. 40% work from home Our client is a leading wholesale distributor for their automotive range of products, with 7 distribution centres and 2 manufacturing sites situated around Australia. Due to recent growth, they are seeking to appoint an experienced Purchasing and Inventory Managerto their Brisbane team.

Based at their Southside Head Office / Distribution Centre and reporting to the CEO, the Purchasing and Inventory Manager First and foremost, the Purchasing and Inventory Manager partners with stakeholders to plan, develop, source, and manage the lifecycle of the stock (parts) purchasing process, whilst ensuring processes are aligned to meet organisational and business objectives. Key tasks and responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to: Manage the Purchasing Team - including work allocation, performance reviews and performance management Ensuring the Purchasing Team execute their duties within governance frameworks, policies, processes, procedures and KPI’s as documented in quarterly STI processes In collaboration with the CEO undertake regular business needs assessments, supply market analysis and commercial risk assessments then formulate recommendations and provide advice on Purchasing planning and sourcing decisions and to deliver value for money Purchasing solutions for the business Coordinate the formulation of commercial risk profiles and contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive probity management plan in conjunction with the Purchasing cross- functional team to manage risk and improve Purchasing activity and performance Develop tender evaluation methodologies, manage the tender process, including the communication with tenderers, participating in contract negotiations as required to resolve commercial conditions, ensuring value for money outcomes, and facilitating the timely award of contracts Under the guidance and direction of the CEO manage the award and execution of contracts Manage supplier performance management plans to effectively manage supplier risk, (including quality control) assure delivery of contracted outcomes and supplier performance In conjunction with the National Operations Manager, CEO and National Operations Manager determine, implement, and monitor storage and distribution strategies, policies and plans Challenge existing processes identify and implement improvement strategies Perform reviews on existing catalogued products in Pronto. Generate and extract data in order to provide management reports Prepare and implement plans to optimise required stock levels at minimum cost negotiating contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements Managing Sales and Operations process, ensuring consistent engagement with all stakeholders in the process, product managers, category managers, COO, CFO & CEO.
