Mission and Safety Assurance Engineer


Description: Job Title - Mission and Safety Assurance Engineer Job Location - Melbourne, Australia Job ID - SAS20222510-92450 Your next role L3Harris is seeking an experienced Engineer to drive the Assurance aspects of the Airservices Australia Enterprise Network Modernization Program (ENMP). The Mission & Safety Assurance Engineer reports to the Operational Integrity Lead and will be responsible for maintaining ENMP program compliance within the required quality standards and Safety Management System. The position is key to ensuring L3Harris's success in providing a safe critical infrastructure solution and service, which is critical to deliver Air Traffic Management Services.

What the role will involve: Ensure that the program adheres to the quality and safety management system requirements and continues to meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and other relevant standards; Where corrective actions are identified with the quality and safety management systems, the duties include addressing those actions and leading them to closure; Ensure that the project continues to maintain quality and safety accreditation; Act as spokesperson for the project on quality and safety accreditation matters when required; Maintain an audit schedule to ensure that all quality and safety processes and procedures are audited at appropriate intervals, relevant to their importance to the project; Collaboration with contracts, engineering, operations, supply chain, program leadership, external customer representatives to ensure contractual requirements are met Develop and implement plans to ensure compliance to internal/external requirements and standards per program requirements (e.g. AS9100, ISO 9001 etc.

) Carry out audits in accordance with the audit schedule; Educate functions on quality and safety requirements/expectations and drive accountability for compliance; Program interface for internal/external company audits (leads internal audits) Incorporate approved suggestions for improvement into the quality and safety management system; Ensure that staff are complying with all relevant aspects of the quality system; Where elements of the quality system are unworkable, cumbersome or need to change for other reason, ensure that necessary changes are made to the quality system; Facilitate & drive RCCA (root cause corrective action) take "ownership" and collaboratively work with team to determine "true" root cause, thus preventing repeat defects. Associate defects with COPQ (cost of poor quality) and quantify cost savings asso.
