Job Description About this role: The Quality and Standards team maintains the department's audit methodologies and provide technical expertise and support to senior and departmental staff. It also has a key role in developing and implementing audit quality assurance strategies across the department. The Director, Quality and Standards is responsible for managing the Quality and Standards team and is accountable to the Deputy Auditor-General for: leading and managing the development, implementation and maintenance of the department's audit methodologies developing, implementing and advising on a framework of departmental audit quality standards, policies and procedures that meet the requirements of standards issued by the AUASB overseeing and providing expert accounting and auditing advice, support and delivery of technical training leading and overseeing a program of supporting quality assurance processes and conducting quality assurance reviews effectively managing and leading a team of professionals.

Desired Skills and Experience About you: To be successful in this role, you need to have: expert knowledge of audit methodology and modern auditing techniques extensive audition and accounting knowledge and experience including, interpreting accounting and auditing standards, set by the Australian professional accounting bodies, legislation, government standards, frameworks and policies exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including, building and managing networks and producing comprehensive reports on complex matters in a clear and succinct manner extensive experience in leading, developing, implementing and managing strategic plans, programs of work, frameworks and policies for a function and team that have a significant impact beyond the organisation a significant level of independent judgment to resolve complex problems, working under very broad direction and exercising creative and strategic thinking.
