With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD, Melbourneâs North is fastÂ becoming the place to be Â The Role: An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Exercise Physiologist (EP) - Grade 1 or 2 to join the team at Northern Health. The Grade 1 or 2 Exercise Physiologist will work in the Community Therapy Services (CTS) providing centre and home/community based interventions using an interdisciplinary approach. The caseload will be a mix of clients in the Commonwealth Home Support Package (CHSP) population (people aged 65 or over) as well as clients under 65 years old based in the Sub-Acute Ambulatory Services (SACS) providing rehabilitation to clients following a recent event resulting in jury, hospitalisation or recovering from illness.
Caseload will be based on EP referrals/demands for both areas. The Grade 1 or 2 EP will also have the opportunity to run various CTS groups (including specialty outpatient streams such as cardiac rehab and pain services) and run the community integration program with support from the other Grade 2 Exercise Physiologist onsite. Responsibilities of the role include completing comprehensive interdisciplinary assessment to determine clients’ needs and providing appropriate management plan.
The Grade 1 or 2 Exercise Physiologist will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other Exercise Physiologists across sites and the wider CTS team to achieve client focused goals and the strategic outcomes of the program as well as the EP Business Plan Projects. They will have the opportunity to supervise EP students and staff (based on Grade and as required), providing professional development to the wider team, assist with waitlist management, and play an integral part in driving activity for our Community Therapy Service. This role is a Part Time (64 hours per fortnight), fixed term position until 30 June 2023 and will be based at Bundoora Centre.
However there is opportunities to flex up hours if interested or similarly we would consider less hours/job share for suitable applicants.
