ILS Officer


Title: ILS Officer . About the Role LAND 4100 is a system of systems Land C4 capability program consisting of four major systems: - Battlefield Telecommunications Network (BTN). The BTN is the wide area network that provides communication between strategic and operational echelons.

The BTN is the Joint Land Force's communications backbone. - Tactical Communications Network (TCN). The TCN is the extension of the BTN into the Tactical echelon.

The TCN provides voice and data communications within a tactical area. The BTN provides the connectivity between different tactical areas. - Battle Management System (BMS).

The BMS consists of the hardware and software products that are integrated to provide Command and Control and Situational Awareness functions in support of the decision cycles within military operations. BMS is predominantly an information service. - Deployed Information Environment (DIE) - The DIE is the deployable local area network infrastructure which provides the Land warfighter information environment.

Although The DIE will continue to be part of the Land C4 Capability System, the deployed information environments are planned to become a Joint C4 responsibility under the Warfighter Networks and Applications (WNA) sub-program. This role is within the CASG environment working on Land 4100 project, completing Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) work as manager of a major acquisition. The ILS Manager will be responsible for the ILS products and inputs for the Land 4100 project.

This project is currently pre-Gate 1 of the One Defence Capability System. The ILS Manager will be accountable to allocate and undertake work, manage resources and tasks and set work area priorities to meet work area outcomes. The ILS Manager will be accountable for the development of materiel logistics strategies and plans for information, communications, quality and resources that support the objectives of the Land 4100 project.

Other tasks may include, but not limited to: - Development of ILS concepts and program plans - Support to RFI development, and assessment - Support to Gate 1 Documentation suite - Support FIC integration - Review (AHQ) Statement of Operating Intent and incorporate into ILS document requirements - Review and implement findings of IAR Experience/Skills Sought: As the successful candidate you will possess experience in the following: Leading the development of materiel logistics strategies and plans for information, communications, quality and resources that support the objectives of a major acquisition project. This includes mentoring junior staff assigned to the ILS Team. Implement processes and procedures to support the acquisition and sustainment of equipment in accordance with Defence requirements.

Coordinate the provision of advice and guidance to others on complex materiel logistics activities and tasks. Review and advise on materiel logistics performance within an acquisition project Understand and apply organisational processes and p.
