Overall Purpose The Program Manager is part of the College Academic Management Team responsible for driving the quality and consistency of delivery within the University of Sydney Foundation Program (USFP), Higher Achievers Program (HAPP) and the Academic English Preparation Program (AEP) and line management to Heads of Departments. Key Responsibilities Management • Work collaboratively as a member of the Senior Management & Academic Management Teams to set, monitor and achieve agreed College outcomes • Establish a high performing and highly engaged team • Set clear performance expectations and priorities for Heads of Department and monitor progress towards them • Foster a positive and supportive work environment for the academic team, which encourages a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability • Carry out the capacity planning for USFP & HAPP in liaison with the Director Teaching & Learning and support Heads of Department in the allocation of staffing to classes • Manage teacher absences and arrange cover as required Lead the recruitment, appointment, and induction process of any new teaching staff, ensuring they have the appropriate skills and experience to fulfil the role • Support HOD's to manage staff under performance issues regarding o performance as this relates to professional standards and teaching practice and o behavioural issues as this relates to expected standards of conduct in interactions with staff and students • Prepare and present reports on academic quality, delivery and student outcomes as requested by the Senior Leadership Team • Participate in student events and marketing activities to support student recruitment • Delegate for the Director of Teaching & Learning when required Program Quality & Delivery • Hold regular team meetings to drive quality of teaching • Coordinate the implementation of the Academic Quality Assurance Framework in liaison with the Director of Teaching and Learning • Collate evidence for curriculum and program reviews and assist in independent audits • Participate in internal audits on a periodic basis to ensure alignment with ESOS, Foundation and ELICOS standards • Administer course evaluation surveys for students, analyse and report on the responses • Develop and implement best practice for classroom delivery and assessment • Contribute to the planning and program development of all USFP, HAPP & AEP courses • Ensure high quality assessment procedures and accurate recording of student outcomes is in place for all programs • Work closely with the Associate Director of Student Transition to retain strong student outcomes • Work closely with the Heads of Department in managing breaches of academic integrity and maintaining the Academic Integrity Register • Contribute to the development of assessment strategy and lead the implementation of those strategies across the departments • Identify professional developme.
