Work for one of the largest multi-disciplinary Third Party Claims Administrators in Australia Liability & Technical Specialist – Permanent – Full Time Your new company We are looking for a Liability and Technical Specialist to join a well-known insurance company. Your new role Liability Provide a high level of empathetic customer service through the initial contact process with external stakeholders seeking to notify of a work injury. Coordinate the claim lodgement process, ensuring key information is obtained from stakeholders to support the timely determination of a claim.

Determine liability for a claim within the legislative timeframes and communicate decision to the injured worker and employer. Complete risk assessment addressing the need for a Return-to-Work Specialist to be allocated to the claim; Identify any potential barriers and provide effective strategies for eligibility outcomes. Identify any recovery potential and refer to internal resource as required.

Calculate Normal Weekly Earnings (NWE) for injured workers. Ensure all relevant data and information is captured within the appropriate systems in a timely manner. Meet performance targets whilst maintaining compliance with relevant Acts, Claims Educate stakeholders on RTW process, legislative requirements and initial claim decisions where necessary.

Provide education to Workers, Employer and Treating Medical Practitioner in respect to rights and responsibilities. Request and obtain missing information for stakeholders. Utilise appropriate referrals and investigation tools to expedite information gathering, thus ensuring the accurate and timely determination of the claim.

Technical Specialist Provide high quality customer service to internal customers, injured workers, employers and legal representatives to ensure best practice claims outcomes are achieved. Liaise with internal parties to obtain information relevant to active disputes. Ensure dispute outcomes are effectively communicated and actioned within specified timeframes.

Undertake the internal dispute resolution process as requested’ Prepare required paperwork for NT WorkSafe in relation to mediation requests. Attend mediation and work health court conferences as required. Attend meetings with panel solicitors as required.

Maintain compliance with relevant Acts and Claims agent instructions. Represent Gallagher Bassett in a professional, informed and courteous manner in accordance with model litigant behavioural guidelines. Guide, advise and assist employers who require specialist technical assistance.

Provide mentoring, coaching and specialist technical assistance and training to internal stakeholders. Whole Permanent Impairment and Claim Resolution Determine entitlements in line with legislative requirements of the Act. Arrange required medical assessment(s) to determine an injured worker entitlement.

Review and make recommendations regarding lump sum and serious injury entitlements of injured workers in line wit.
