About your opportunityThis is a unique opportunity to provide Cardiac Diagnostic Procedures to the newly formed Paediatric Cardiology Service based at Townsville University Hospital. You will have the opportunity to shape and define this service as it develops and grows.
The Clinical Measurement Scientist will deliver Paediatric Cardiac Scientific Diagnostic services as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Key duties include: Deliver advanced Paediatric Cardiac Scientific Diagnostic services including 24HR Holter Monitoring, 12 lead ECG's, Exercise Stress Testing and Echocardiography services in accordance with contemporary clinical practice standards. Perform, with a high degree of independence and with infrequent clinical practice supervision, as an advanced practitioner in Paediatric Cardiac Diagnostics including Echocardiography in the Paediatric Cardiac service at the Townsville University Hospital.
Undertake high level Paediatric Cardiac Diagnostic services including Echocardiography within a multidisciplinary team, applying professional judgement to the complex Paediatric Cardiac Diagnostic and Echocardiography caseloads, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence. Participate in clinical research activities. Provide Cardiac Diagnostic Paediatric Cardiac scientific clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant clinical and medical directors and other stakeholders regarding service delivery in Paediatric Cardiac Sciences at the Townsville University Hospital.
Role requirements: The successful applicant must hold a tertiary Degree in Applied Science (or equivalent) qualification, with a strong component of human anatomy and physiology. Accredited Sonographer registered with Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR). This position may be required to participate in an on-call service and/or a roster providing seven day per week service coverage.
Generous remuneration package value up to $134,445 p.a. comprising salary range of $109,505 to $117,835 p.
