Senior Land OfficerQueensland Government

- Prepare advice to senior officers for highly complex land matters under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth), Land Act 1994 and Aboriginal Land Act 1994, with reference to departmental policy and procedures. - Administer highly complex land dealings under the Land Act 1994, Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and other relevant legislation applying departmental policy and procedures. - Evaluate unallocated State land to determine its most appropriate future use and tenure under the Land Act 1994.
- Exercise delegate authority under the Land Act 1994 in accordance with sound administrative decision-making principles and in consideration of risk. - Negotiate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and native title representative bodies on land tenure matters, provide quality advice in a supportive style for the resolution of complex land matters. - Support the senior officers in the operational supervision of teams including undertaking performance and development programs, allocating cases, monitoring staff workload and addressing underperformance.
- Consider the impacts of broader changes to the department for State land in relation to native title, adjust processes to respond as appropriate and review, develop and implement improved work practices and procedures. - Draft Ministerial and departmental correspondence. - Other duties as directed and required.
