Fellow - General Surgery (ASU)WA Health
Salary: MP Year 1-2 $193,482 - $202,378 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 10% superannuation and professional development allowance) This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time appointments for 6 - 12 months with the possibility of extension(s).
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 14/11/2021. Position Profile: The Surgery Fellow role covers the Acute Surgical Unit (ASU) at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) and within South Metropolitan Health Service and is responsible for admitting & managing patients for General Surgery in normal hours and approx.
1 in 7 (on-call) out of hours. Within this role the successful applicant will supervise SET and Service Registrars, Resident Medical Officers and Interns under the direction of General Surgery Consultants and the rotating Surgeon of the day within the ASU. Area Profile: FSH is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service.
FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine. Suitable candidates to this recruitment process may also be accessed/offered employment by other employers within the WA Health system (ie. South Metropolitan Health Service, North Metropolitan Health Service, East Metropolitan Health Service, WA Country Health Service, Child and Adolescent Health Service).
