vic.edu.au Location Profile Beaconsfield Upper Primary School is located 10kms north of Berwick in a semi rural community about 50kms east of Melbourne.

The school is on the edge of the South-East growth corridor of greater Melbourne and further housing development can be expected. Our current enrolment is 347. Although the original school opened in 1883, there have been major capital works over the past few years with the majority of the school now comprising of new buildings including the administration wing, the Early Years Learning Centre, computer lab, toilet block and permanent classrooms.

A BER (Building the Education Revolution) Stadium is a great resource for our Physical Education and Sports Program. Our new buildings, extensive grounds, natural bush surrounds and the semi rural environment provide an aesthetic setting, attracting students from a wide catchment area. Students are drawn to the school from Upper Beaconsfield and surrounding areas including Avonsleigh, Beaconsfield, Berwick, Cockatoo, Emerald, Harkaway and Pakenham.

Our comprehensive prep transition program with local kindergartens, develops the children’s confidence and the necessary social skills to make the transition to primary school a successful and enjoyable one. Beaconsfield Upper Primary School prides itself on being “not just a school – but a part of the community “ and this is reflected in the community pride in the school that promotes community activities and joint use of the excellent facilities, linking students with the community and the environment. Our mission is to provide students with the learning opportunities to; develop to their full potential, be independent learners for life and problem solvers, be socially competent, be able to contribute as a member to the school and wider community and global society in the future.
