Senior Policy Analyst/Economist $102,637 - $124,183 (Plus Superannuation) Fixed Term – 12 months Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available) Usual work location: 8 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available) The position of Senior Policy Analyst/Economist forms a part of the Coordination & Industry Recovery Team in the Industry Coordination & Recovery Group in DJPR. Industry Coordination and Recovery Group The Industry Coordination and Recovery Group leads and works with our partners to enable Victorian industries and businesses to recover and thrive while operating in a COVIDSafe environment. Our goal is to ensure business and industry is COVIDSafe and active contributors to Victoria's economic recovery.
Strategy & Preparedness, and Coordination & Recovery branches The positions are within the Strategy & Preparedness, and Coordination & Recovery branches which collectively lead, coordinates and delivers whole of government strategic projects and initiatives to support industry recovery as Victoria moves to COVID Normal. Reporting to the relevant Manager, the Senior Policy Analyst/Economist will assist in the management of complex projects to ensure ministers and senior executives are supported with timely and high-quality advice on COVID-19 and economic recovery matters. Technical expertise in economic analysis and modelling is essential for this role.
Some of the other key accountabilities of the Senior Policy Analyst Role include the following: Developing and updating economic modelling datasets and programs to test scenarios and arrive at logical, defensible conclusions and outputs. Leading the provision of project and policy advice on a variety of issues. Contributing to policy and implementation options or components of projects with limited supervision.
