About the role Mind’s Sub-Acute short stay Adult Step-Up and Step-Down (ASUSD) program is delivered through partnerships with QLD hospital networks.
Adults between the ages of 25 - 65 years are able to access specialist clinical mental health staff 24 hours a day whilst supporting connections with family and friends as well as learning strategies to live fulfilling lives within their community. ASUSD’s provide a schedule of group activities alongside individual 1:1 support based on strengths and goals identified in recovery plans. We have several casual opportunities available for passionate, self-motivated Community Mental Health Practitioners to work on a 24/7 rotating roster in the Mackay area.
You will be integral in delivering person-centred services to clients, families and carers and supporting young people to recover from mental health challenges and by developing life skills in a residential setting. Key Responsibilities Provide support to clients using targeted and integrated case managed responses. Support clients by delivering high quality service and facilitating positive educational and social experiences in a residential setting.
Work collaboratively with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated and integrated response to the client’s recovery goals. Plan and deliver group programs that aid clients to build their skills and focus on recovery. What you’ll bring Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
Expertise in working with young people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers. Demonstrated understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with agencies, clinical providers and key stakeholders. Relevant experience in facilitating group activities for clients experiencing mental ill health.
