The activities are streamed with all senior staff engaged with a defined set of malignancies. Services are highly integrated with a broad range of disciplines including surgical, radiation, palliative care, hereditary cancer, nursing and allied health. There is a strong emphasis on holistic care that is patient centred and multidisciplinary.
In particular research is a key embedded feature of patient care. Emphasis is on recruitment to clinical trials and all forms of clinical research. There is a particular desire to commit to the translational opportunities offered by proximity to the researchers at the UNSW Kensington campus.
This role involves a 0.8 FTE position with a focus on breast and gynecological cancers but the possibility of also managing patients with other tumour types which will be determined according to the need of the department. We will also consider appointing 2 0.
4 FTE to cover the 12 month locum .The role requires close engagement with multidisciplinary teams caring for patients with breast and gynecological cancers and is closely integrated with gynecological service at the Royal Hospital for Women. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient service provision and attendance at key multidisciplinary clinics.
There is a component of after hour’s service allocated according to FTE. Experience in breast and gynecological cancers and clinical trials research is a requirement. The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’ .
