Independent Public School - Pilbara Education Region Karratha Senior High School Education Assistant - Special Needs Pool Ref IPS/SS700614 Level 2/3, $28.59 - $33.09 per hour (EA (Gov) GA 2021) Advertised Vacancy Number IPS/SS700614 Appointment Pool Karratha Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2022.
Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2022. Successful applicants will assist teaching staff in the delivery of planned education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will also provide feedback when required on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to student progress.
As part of your role you will ideally be required to have an ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students. Our school has a population of approximately 1200 students and is situated on a state of the art, dynamic and revolutionary campus which was completed in 2013. Students at Karratha SHS come from all contributory primary schools as well as those from across Australia.

Karratha is the sea change you have been looking for To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria): Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with students with special needs, parents and teaching professionals on the provision of educational programs, and to assist teachers in understanding students where necessary. Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs, including special education and therapy programs where these have been implemented.
