Independent Public School - Kimberley Education Region Broome Senior High School Teacher - Humanities and Social Sciences Pool Ref IPS/TCH702405 Teacher, $72,137 - $107,049 per annum (SEA GA 2019) Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH 702405 Appointment Pool Broome Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year. Broome SHS, winner of the WA School of the Year for 2012, is now one of the premier high schools in the state.
A leading Independent Public School in its own right, the school is also proudly part of the Broome Cluster of Independent Public Schools working in close collaboration with the town's four primaries, Broome, Cable Beach, Broome North and Roebuck Primary Schools. The Cluster arrangement is an exciting initiative and as such Broome SHS is an active partner in the development of Cluster strategies. Suitable applicants will ideally possess training and/or experience teaching Year 11 or Year 12 Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) HASS courses and also have experience and/or capacity to teach Year 7 to 10 HASS subjects.
Suitable applicants will ideally have relevant curriculum knowledge and a willingness to work collaboratively in a strong team environment to engage in the teaching and learning of HASS courses for lower school and senior school. Experience in teaching students with trauma backgrounds, varying literacy levels, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and those with special needs is highly regarded. As a tourist town, Broome is well resourced in regard to facilities and services. If successful in gaining a position, the successful applicants will be eligible for subsidised GROH housing and transport of self and possessions to/from Broome.
