Harmony Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a committed, highly competent and enthusiastic Primary Teacher, with excellent interpersonal, collaboration and leadership skills. About The Role The successful applicant will spend 4 days a week delivering the WA curriculum to our middle to upper primary classrooms and 1 day coordinating and moulding our developing English program. As such, applicants aspiring to hone and consolidate their leadership skills are strongly encouraged to apply.
As primary teacher for years 3 to 6 you will ideally have effective classroom management skills, the ability to develop rapport and motivate students, and differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs. Practising and modelling a range of teaching strategies are key aspects of this position. Harmony PS is working towards implementing whole-school planning structures.
In addition to their teaching duties, the successful applicant will ensure our English programs are consistent, differentiated and responsive to student data, by working closely with teaching teams. Applicants should be well-versed in the Western Australian curriculum for English and possess skills which will place them in good stead to be able to assist colleagues in their professional development and learning. The Successful Applicant The successful applicant should have exemplary teaching skills, be highly motivated and hold themselves accountable to delivering best practice.

The successful applicant should also be an aspiring educational leader who is dynamic, strategic, innovative and proactive. You should be keen to build staff capacity using the tools of classroom observation and feedback, modelled lessons and assist in professional learning.
The successful applicant will ideally have experience with Spelling Mastery and/or Letters and Sounds and Heggerty programs, along with a strong knowledge of effective reading practices across the whole school. Talk4Writing and 7 Steps to Writing Success are also used at Harmony PS and experience with these would be advantageous.
