Western Australia Police Force Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (B2 - Avionics) Position Number: 221257 Level/Salary: Individual Contract of Employment, $130,922 plus 10% Commuted Allowance & Tool Allowance of $876 p.a., Engineer Common Law Contact Work Type: Permanent - Full Time Branch: Police Air Wing Location: Jandakot Airport with field work as required Closing Date: 2021-09-15 4:00 PM POSITION OBJECTIVE This position contributes to the effective and efficient operation of the Police Air Wing, by ensuring the airworthiness and maintenance of Police Air Wing aircraft, mission role equipment and associated technical records.
SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITE It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance. Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description).
Whilst there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to receive a waiver. 3 (Turbine Engine Helicopters) and/or Possession of a Commonwealth of Australia CASR Part 66 B2 Avionics Engineering License; with experience in contemporary turbine powered helicopters - Essential requirement for Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (LAME) positions. Communication skills - Communicating with internal and external customers on engineering issues. Interpersonal skills - Providing guidance and overseeing maintenance performed on aircraft by maintenance engineers and other Police Air Wing staff.
