Executive Manager Operations Full-time, Fixed-term contract until October 2026 Executive Leadership opportunity with a competitive Senior Officer Package Exciting time to join the City of Ballarat as we embark on a period of change About the City of Ballarat  The City of Ballarat, 100km west of Melbourne’s CBD is one of the largest inland regional cities in the country. The role The Executive Manager Operations will provide leadership and direction to staff delivering a range of high-quality operations and maintenance services and programs within the City of Ballarat including: Sealed and unsealed roads Road safety Pathways and drainage assets Parks and gardens including ovals and sports reserves, city entrances, botanical gardens and nursery, open space Lakes, trails and waterways Arboriculture and tree planting About you  The City of Ballarat is seeking a highly motivated and experienced people  leader.

  Ideally, the preferred candidate will also have demonstrated technical experience in horticulture/civil works maintenance and asset protection activities,  and well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and clearly communicate with the community, professionals and elected members. Key Selection Criteria  Qualifications and experience as listed in the position description. Experience in the delivery of successful operations services including management of significant resources.

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a large multi-disciplinary team. Well-developed communication (written/oral) and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Extensive contract / project management skills. Strong financial management skills including budget development and control. Understanding of the processes and mechanisms of Local Government.
