Owned by a genuine hospitality couple, who live and breathe the industry, passing on all their strong values and professionalism to their friendly and service driven team. This is a great opportunity for an existing AM with a great customer service background and solid experience with wine to take on a Restaurant Manager role with a well known Gold Coast restaurant and bar. The Role You'll be someone who thrives on customer service and giving people an experience, ideally you’ll be from a similar type background – hatted style quality or thereabouts.
You'll not only be responsible in the day-to-day running of the venue, overseeing both the bar and restaurant, but actively involved in the fundamentals of the business, managing costs, stocktaking, rostering etc. This company prides itself on looking after their staff, so employee engagement and staff retention is expected. Someone who leads the team as well as being part of the team is essential.
There is an excellent and award winning wine list that will also be part of the RM’s responsibilities, where you'lll be working closely with the owners on introducing new wines and training staff. Being an owner/operator set-up there is plenty of scope for a manager to learn the business side of the venue; understanding costings, P&L, supplier negotiation, marketing etc. The owners are open to teaching in these key areas.
The Required Experience Ideally you'll come from a highly professional background, where giving service that’s both relaxed but thorough in its attention to detail is the norm. The right candidate will have strength in personality, confident running a busy restaurant floor, plus a dynamic presence to deal with a myriad of situations. You’ll also be a natural people person with an infectious enthuisasm for the industry.
Good wine knowledge is essential. Some bar knowledge or experience would be preferred. Rewards You’ll be rewarded with a salary of up to $80KS, depending on skills and experience.
