The Opportunity. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Agribusiness Food and Trade branch within the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) as a Senior Trade Consultant. We are looking to establish a pool of suitable Senior Trade Consultants.
There are currently two positions available for immediate filling until 30 June 2023 in partnership with Austrade. Please note, to be considered for appointment into the Austrade partnership positions the successful applicants must hold an Australian Citizenship. Your role will be to proactively engage with industry and government stakeholders to leverage successful trade and business outcomes and deliver export advisory services in partnership with Austrade, through the TradeStart network, to assist export ready businesses in Western Australia.
Additional information on the TradeStart Network is available on the Austrade website. Key responsibilities in this role include providing practical export advice to businesses in Western Australia using your own experience and the networks available to you. You will gather market intelligence, identify, and facilitate the development of new export opportunities for WA primary industries and represent WA's trade market access priorities.
For further key responsibilities please see attached JDF. The Ideal Candidate. To be successful in this role you will have previous experience working in a trade and export market development environment.
Commercial experience especially within the agrifood and beverage export sector will be highly beneficial. Strong communication skills are important to build relationships with key stakeholders, you will also have excellent time management and organisational skills to deliver agreed outcomes.
