Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) are currently seeking a Senior Signalling Engineer (SPE) for work on our Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), as part of the Western Program Alliance. Metro is a delivery partner within the Western Program Alliance , who are responsible for delivering large-scale infrastructure projects predominantly in Melbourne’s Western suburbs. These projects benefit train users, pedestrians, cyclists, drivers and the wider community by improving safety, reducing road congestion, and enabling more frequent train services .

About the Role: Reporting to the Project Manager this role will manage & undertake specific elements &/or work packages to support Rail Projects, drawing together Metro Trains Melbourne’s requirements as a client and principal contractor This is a full-time permanent opportunity, primarily site / project based supporting current & future projects within the inner and outer Western Suburbs. Accountabilities: Prepare work pack documentation for specific activities/works and progress the engagement of the contractor/ supplier, including tendering, evaluation contract award Manage the development and submission of scoping documents and proposals assigned to the Project. Assist in the detailed planning for specific project activities as assigned Manage individual packages of work on the project assigned, through the complete project life cycle Provide support in the administration and control of Contract Instructions, in conjunction with the Construction Manager, ensuring that any change of scope, direction to proceed, site instruction etc is given to the Contractor(s) in writing and correctly documented Manage the receipt of design information and drawings, including ensuring that a current drawing register is maintained, and that the documentation is issued to all the relevant parties Manage the Request For Information process ensuring that there is the appropriate technical input (from others) to the query and that there is a timely response Manage the handover process at project completion ensuring that all the key stakeholders are involved, and that project documentation is completed in accordance with procedures Overall technical coordination of the complete signalling system and all signalling system interfaces when acting as a work package lead Desired qualifications, skills and experience: Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, or equivalent De.
